Come down to our store for an exciting hour in the company of translator Mette Holm 📚🇯🇵

Japan is much more than all the things in our store. It is also an exciting culture that can be experienced through travel and literature.
Mette Holm, who, among other things, translates Haruki Murakami, has offered to come and tell you about the trips she is helping to organize to Japan and about two brand new books she has translated.

It will be about three trips this autumn - a Meta-Murakami trip with Murakami themes, architecture, art, nature and sumo - a pilgrimage to Shikoku and a trip where you can meet some exciting women both in northern Japan and in the area around Tokyo. And the books, yes, they are 'Weasels in the Attic' by Hiroko Oyamada (released 2/2) and 'Ueno Station, the Park Exit' by Yu Miri (released 2/29).

The books will be available for purchase in our shop, and Mette will be happy to sign them on the day.
We provide coffee, Japanese tea, snacks, and Mette makes sure to make you smarter. It costs DKK 50 to participate and we only have 20 available places, so it will be a cosy, intimate and informal event.

The practical:

  • 1 hour of exciting talk by Mette Holm on 5/3 at 14-15.
  • Coffee, Japanese tea and snacks
  • Possibility to buy signed books by Mette Holm
  • 10% discount code for the store (can only be used on the day itself)
  • Due to limited places, registration is binding and it is therefore not possible to refund the ticket if you are prevented.
