Which glass should you choose for your frame?

When you buy a frame from us, you can choose between three different types of glass: real glass, acrylic glass and museum glass (upon request). Here we guide you to which glass best suits you and your needs.

Real glass – the standard choice

Our standard glass is real glass, which gives a beautiful and clear expression. It is a popular choice because it presents the motif 1:1 and does not affect the colors of the motif.

Real glass is ideal for rooms where no special protection is needed and where reflections are not a problem.

Acrylic glass – lightweight and durable

Acrylic glass is made from acrylic plastic and has several practical advantages. It weighs less than real glass, making it particularly suitable for large frames or places where weight needs to be kept to a minimum. In addition, it is more durable and less likely to shatter than real glass. This makes acrylic glass the perfect choice for children's rooms or other places where safety is a priority.

Acrylic glass still gives a nice look, but may be slightly more prone to small scratches and dulls the colors in the motif slightly, compared to real glass.

Museum glass – the ultimate

If you want the best quality, museum glass is the obvious choice. This glass is specially developed to provide the best presentation and protection for your subject. Museum glass significantly reduces glare, so your subject appears sharp and clear in all lighting conditions. It also protects your subject from harmful UV rays that can cause colors to fade over time.

Museum glass is recommended for particularly valuable or delicate motifs that deserve the best presentation and long-term protection.
