Japanese phrases and good words to know in Japan

When you're traveling in Japan, it's nice to know a few phrases and words so you can get by just a little bit. At the same time, the Japanese appreciate it very much and will tell you that you are almost fluent in Japanese if you know these ;-)

• Konnichi wa : Good day
• Konban wa : Good evening
• Oyasumi nasai : Good night
• Arigatō : Thank you
• Sumi masen : Excuse me or excuse me (if you bump into someone)
• Onegai Shimasu : Please
• Hai and iie : Yes and no
