The easy guide to pour over
How to make pour over coffee with Hario V60 without weights
Pour over coffee is a simple method for making a tasty cup of coffee. Here is an easy guide where you use a measuring spoon to measure out the coffee.
What you need:
- Hario V60 funnel
- Hario V60 paper filter
- Ground coffee
- Gooseneck hand brew kettle (or a regular kettle)
- Cup or jug to brew in
- Hot water
- Measuring spoon (optionally made of steel or wood )
Step-by-step guide
1. Prepare the equipment
Place the Hario V60 funnel on your cup or jug and insert a paper filter into the funnel.
2. Measure the coffee
Use a measuring spoon to measure ground coffee. These spoons ( steel measuring spoon and wooden measuring spoon ) measure exactly 12 grams, which you need per cup (approx. 150 ml. water). Adjust the amount to taste if necessary.
3. Heat the water
Boil the water and let it sit for about 30 seconds to let the temperature drop a little.
4. Brew the coffee
Pour a small amount of water over the coffee to moisten it, wait about 30 seconds, then slowly pour the rest of the water in a circular motion until the cup is full.
5. Enjoy your coffee
Once the water has run through, remove the V60 funnel, stir the coffee lightly and enjoy your fresh cup of pour over coffee.
