SEN Table Lamp

SEN Table Lamp is a unique and contemporary piece of lighting art, drawing on traditional Japanese craftsmanship, but also revitalizing it at the same time.

Sen means lines in Japanese, and the many bamboo strips, bent into shape, create both lines and shadows. The lamps' craftsmanship is based on the traditional art of takeensuji, a technique traditionally used to make insect cages and paper lanterns, while also adding a modern look and application.

The lamp is meticulously handcrafted in Japan by the artist Tani Toshiyuki together with bamboo masters, using approximately 600 bamboo strips.

Also available as a pendant.

What is Japandi?

Japanese interiors are as popular as ever - and for good reason. The Japanese style has many features in common with the Scandinavian style.

Japandi is used for the style where elements from Japanese and Scandinavian design are combined. Here, the focus is on simplicity and good craftsmanship. The use of light wood, natural materials, calm colors and design is where the two styles especially meet and unite.

For us personally, the fusion between the Japanese and the Scandinavian consists in combining the things that we love most about the two worlds: good craftsmanship, minimalism, colors and calm.
