Strawberry Matcha
Fresh and summery matcha with strawberries
This strawberry matcha is not only a feast for the eyes with its beautiful green and red layers, but also a delight for the palate. The combination of the fresh sweetness from strawberries and the classic Japanese matcha creates a perfect balance between a sweet fruity taste and the matcha's rich and green aroma.
With the fresh twist of strawberry, this drink is the ideal choice for summer and the warmer months.
Ingredients
- 100 grams of strawberries (we used frozen, but fresh can also be used)
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 0.5 dl water
- Soy drink (or whatever plant drink/milk you prefer)
- Matcha powder (we have used our own organic matcha powder )
- Ice cubes
Procedure
- Pour the strawberries, water and sugar into a pan and let it boil until the strawberries are soft and can be mashed with a fork. You can also use a blender to make the mass completely uniform and smooth.
- Let it boil for approx. 10 minutes and then cool it down.
- When the strawberry filling has cooled, put approx. three teaspoonfuls into a tall glass followed by ice cubes and your herbal drink/milk.
- Finally, pour your whipped matcha on top and stir well with a straw. You can e.g. whip your matcha according to the guide in this recipe: Iced matcha latte.
