Matcha consists of finely ground whole green tea leaves. Pulverizing the tea leaf ensures that the tea's many beneficial nutrients and antioxidants are better retained.
This matcha is of high quality from the 2nd and 3rd harvest, which provides a strong green tea flavor. It has a stronger and more bitter taste compared to our other higher grades of matcha - traditional and premium. This matcha is ideal for smoothies, lattes, ice cream, and baking.
The characteristic green matcha is grown in the Uji region of Kyoto, which is known for having supplied the highest quality green tea for 800 years.
